PCTC's new initiative is Tamil Nadu Student Centered Teachers Federation (TANSCET) through which it aims to bridge the gaps in education for rural school children.

TANSCET is publishing a monthly journal "Thirruppam" (Turning) in Tamil. It has become a platform for debates on present issues related to educational system.

Some of the activities foreseen are :

• Special summer camps for Children.
• Talent search competitions for school children.

• Prevention of drop-outs at secondary level of education, specially among girls.

• Support to deserving students to continue education.

• Careers guidance and supportive training to 25 youth a year on computer, accounts, secretarial assistance and job placement services.

• Students will be encouraged to exhibit their social commitments.

The teachers will be given input in increasing scientific temper in children.
They will also be encouraged to produce scientific papers / to publish books.
The best teachers will be rewarded every year.

At the resource center, the following facilities will be created for the students and teachers :

• Computer training.
• Internet access.
• Learning new languages.
• Learning musical instruments.
• A library.
• An indoor gym.

• Support to prepare for competitions and examinations.
